Obama declara ca datoriile pe termen lung sunt”nesustenabile”
14 Mai (Bloomberg)-Presedintele Barak Obama defineste prezentul deficit proveit din cheltuieli ca fiind “nesustenibil”, ca urmare a avertizarii primite cu privire la cresterea exploziva a ratei dobanzii consumatorilor, daca Stalele Unite continua sa finanteze guvernul, imprumutand bani de la alte tari.
“Nu putem sa contractam in continuare inprumuturi de la China,” a spus Obama la o intalnire in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, in afara Albequerque-ului. “Treuie sa platim dobanzi la acele datorii, si asta inseamna ca ipotecam viitorul copiilor nostri prin debite ce se aduna in avalansa.”
Finantatorii americanilor se vor satura, la un moment dat, sa astepte, si, in plus, trecerea timpului va genera o crestere a dobanzii pentru orice, de la inprumuturi pentru autoturisme pana la ipotecile caselor, a mai spus Obama. “Va avea un efect de secatuire a economiei noastre.”

Presedintele a spus ca americanii au devenit dependenti de cardurile lor si sunt oarecum responsabili si ei pentru prezentul sistem, “Am fost complici in aparitia acestor probleme,” a spus. “Trebuie sa schimbam modul de operare. Aceste practici s-au inrautatit in pragul recesiunii.”
Asociatia Bancherilor din America, care reprezinta emitentii de carduri, a avertizat legiuitorii si administratia Obama cu privire la riscurile luarii unor masuri punitive si a stabilirii unor praguri prea rigide. Facand asta, grupul de lobby spune ca s-ar limita acordarea de credite de consum si criza creitelor ar fi agravata.
Obama a spus ca restrictiile “nu ar trebui sa diminueze accesul consumatorilor la credite.”
Debitele necolectabile
Debitele necolectabile nascute din intrebuintarea cardurilor a crescut la 8.82% in Februarie, cea mai mare cota inregistrata in ultimii 20 de ani. A mai spus si ca pasii facuti spre stimularea economiei si spre solutionarea problemelor din sistemul medical incep sa-si faca efectul.
“Inceputul schimbarii”
“Mai e mult pana vom depasi aceasta recesiune,” a spus Obama. “Totusi suntem deplin constienti de mecanismele economice, de motoarele economiei, si se observa deja o schimbare spre bine.”
Raspunzand la intrebarile publicului, Obama si-a reiterat pozitia cu privire la dorinta de a perfecta termenii legislativi pentru sistemul medical pana la sfarsitul anului, spunand ca acest lucru este vital pentru economie.
Costurile din sistemul medical sunt o povara pentru datoriile si asa mari ale tarii.
Cei raspunzatori cu programele au raportat in 13 Mai ca fondul pentru Securitate sociala va ramane fara bunuri in 2037, cu 4 ani mai devreme decat se estima, iar fondul Medicare pentru spitale va secatui pana in 2017, cu 2 ani mai devreme decat se estimase in 2008.
